As a valued member of the Kanata Seniors Council Inc., you have exclusive access to a range of technology services.

At the Kanata Seniors’ Centre, you can easily connect your computer, phone, or tablet to our free WIFI. We also provide three Windows 10 PCs for Internet and email access, printing, scanning, or Skyping. One PC is even equipped with an extra large LCD monitor and larger fonts for better accessibility. Plus, we have a laser printer for your printing, photocopying, or scanning needs.

Technology Training

Learn about your computer, tablet, phone or eReader from our experienced instructors in one-on-one tutoring sessions. Using Kanata Seniors Council Inc. computers or your laptop or device, we can help you with:

  • Navigating and managing files on your Windows 10/11 or Apple computer.
  • Setting up and using email.
  • Safely browse the Web using Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox, as well as search engines like Google.
  • Creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
  • Understanding mobile computing and taking advantage of the “Cloud.”
  • Find and load valuable apps, and learn how to use your Apple/Android phone or tablet more effectively.
  • Using social networking tools like texting/instant messaging, video calling, Facebook, or blogging.
  • Making the best use of your eBook reader.
  • Transferring, editing, and managing the photos from your digital camera.
  • Connecting a printer, scanner, or memory stick.
  • Keeping your personal information private and your computers safe from viruses and malware.
  • Streaming (Internet) TV.

Tech training is now in full swing.

Rest assured, we have experienced instructors in PCs, Mac, iPhone/iPad, Android, and even Chromebook available for one-on-one instruction. Their expertise will guide you through the world of technology, making you feel more confident and reassured.

Lessons are one hour long and take place at the Kanata Seniors Centre at 2500 Campeau Drive.

Worried about the cost? Don’t be. Our prices are designed to be reasonable, at $25 for a package of 3 lessons and $10 for one lesson.
